Fall from height inspires Andy’s new career as a PASMA instructor
22/03/23 - Meet Andrew Ingle, our newest PASMA instructor! He passed his training, mentoring and final assessment in February and is now a freelance instructor who can run training courses for any of our approved training centres.
Andrew started his career in arboriculture, where he unfortunately had a 13 metre fall from height, landing on concrete and breaking his back. It proved to be the inspiration for a career change further down the line, as he’s now a trainer who specialises in work at height.
As Andrew puts it: “I didn’t want anyone else to spend months in hospital and six months recovering from a very avoidable injury.”
Having done a lot of training himself since his recovery, he realised he had a love for learning and has now dedicated his career to teaching people to work at height safely – a mission that resonates with all of us here at PASMA.
It was a natural next step to add PASMA to the growing repertoire of training he offers, and he’s now qualified to teach four of our most popular courses:
> PASMA Towers for Users
> Low Level Access
> Combined Towers for Users and Low Level Access
> Work at Height (Novice)
As well as the satisfaction that comes from helping to prevent accidents, Andrew also loves the variety of the training world. For example, he tells us that in the space of one week he taught at an aircraft hanger, a nuclear reactor and an abattoir!
Andrew Ingle (t/a Highwise) was mentored by Greg Ball (One Call Training), part of our lead instructor team, who Andrew credits with helping him through the final stages of the process.
Congratulations, Andrew!
