3/11/26 - A key highlight from PASMA’s recent
annual members’ meeting (AMM) was the announcement of the latest election results.
Council
Following a closely contested election, PASMA chair Charles Wright (Lakeside Industries) announced that two members have secured their place on council for a further two years:
• Carl Evans (Sunbelt Rentals)
• Darren Verschuren (HSS Training)
As council members, they’ll continue to make a real impact on our campaigns, projects and direction - thank you both!
Training committee
This year’s training committee election gave members a choice of nine candidates. The successful candidates were announced by chair Debbie Forbes (HSS) during the AMM:
• Adele Coupe (Certora Training)
• Steve Booker (Kentec Training)
• Richard Chapman (RSC Training)
• Dave Elson (Werner)
• Darren Petrie (Access Platforms Aberdeen)
A record number of candidates stood for election this year, reflecting the willingness of members to get involved and help shape PASMA’s future.
In fact, the committee was so encouraged by the level of interest from both new and returning candidates that it decided to co-opt all unsuccessful applicants onto the committee.
Sam Amos (AFI Training), Bobby Creed (Nationwide Platforms), Chris Molyneux (John Sisk and Son) and Tom Webber (Access Tower Services) will serve a one-year term, giving them valuable committee experience ahead of the next election opportunity in 2027.
Hirer/dealer committee
In his last update as chair, Martin Doran (Astley Hire) thanked all members who have served on PASMA’s newest committee so far, and congratulated two elected members:
• Jamie Murphy (Pop Up Products)
• Gary Parson (Hire Access)
Martin has served as chair since the committee was formed four years ago. We’d like to thank him for helping to establish hirer/dealers as an important voice in tower safety and for all the work he has done to raise standards across the sector.
He will soon hand over to Stuart McDade (Sunbelt Rentals) to continue the good work he has done.
Thanks to our members
PASMA's strength has always come from the knowledge, experience and commitment of its members. The decisions made by
council and committees help shape standards, influence industry practice and guide the future direction of the association. Whether you've served a term, stood for election or simply cast a vote, you've played a part in that work. Thank you for helping PASMA remain a member-led organisation dedicated to advancing tower safety.
