In memory of Brian Houston MBE

23/6/25 - It’s with sadness that we share the news of the passing of Brian Houston MBE, who died on Sunday 15 June. Brian was a highly respected figure in the access industry and a long-standing supporter of PASMA. He served two terms as chairman and is one of a small number of members to have received our lifetime achievement award – a reflection of his exceptional contribution to the industry. Over the course of his career, Brian held senior roles at Turner Access and SGB, and contributed tirelessly to the work of several key industry bodies including the NASC – where he served as president, regional chair and later as an auditor – and CSCS, where he was a board member. In 2008, he was awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours List for services to the construction industry – national recognition of a lifetime dedicated to raising standards and improving safety. Brian’s funeral will take place at Bishopbriggs Crematorium, Crosshill Road on Friday 27 June at 1pm. Our thoughts are with his wife Pat, sons Paul and Stephen and granddaughters Jessica and Rebecca. Brian is pictured with fellow council member Brian Meadmore at the opening of PASMA’s head office in 2010.
