Roger Verallo presented PASMA lifetime achievement award
12/09/24 - Roger Verallo presented with his lifetime achievement award by Moira Cameron, a retired Yeoman Warder of the Tower of London
“Clever, cheerful, industrious – and the epitome of a gentleman". These were the words used to describe Roger Verallo as he accepted a PASMA lifetime achievement award at PASMA's 50th anniversary celebration.
In a speech by past chairman Peter Bond, Roger’s unwavering dedication to PASMA and commitment to advancing tower safety was recognised.
Roger first got started in the industry when he took a job selling aluminium towers, despite knowing "absolutely nothing" about them and being ‘terrified’ of working at height. However, he reassured himself that it was only a short-term measure while he looked for "a proper job". That was 46 years ago!
Roger has been part of PASMA since the very early years, having recognised the need for manufacturers to work together to make sure towers are safe.
His achievements include leading Euro Towers Ltd for over three decades, being elected PASMA chairman a record three times and – who can forget – once serving a PASMA-branded pork pie at a council meeting.
His lifetime achievement award was presented by Moira Cameron, a retired Yeoman Warder of the Tower of London, making the moment even more special.
“It’s been a wonderful journey”, Roger told the audience of fellow members, pioneers and champions of tower safety. “Keep up the good work.”
Roger continues to be a dedicated PASMA member, a champion of tower safety and a legend in our industry.
