The PASMA Archive is all about you – the people who work with towers. We need your help to bring it to life. Do you find yourself reminiscing about your time in the tower industry? Do you have any documents or photos hiding away that would be interesting to others? Please do consider sharing with us so we can keep growing the Archive.
We are currently collecting material from 2009 and earlier. There’s a list below of specific things we’re looking for, but if you’ve got something of interest that doesn’t quite fit one of our categories, we’d be very happy to see it.
Documents
Documents could include: assembly guides, PASMA Codes of Practice, meeting minutes, correspondence, advertising, training materials, application photos and drawings, press articles. We’re especially looking for documents from the 1970s (or earlier!). How to submit documents
Photos
Photos will really help bring the Archive to life. We’re looking for photos of towers and the people who work with them, so if you have any then do share. How to submit photos
Stories
Share your memories of your time in the tower industry. What trends, developments and changes have you seen? Who have you worked alongside? Take your place in tower history by sharing your stories with us. We can record your recollection by phone, email or video and you can either freeform or we’ll hold a short interview with you. Please email and we’ll make arrangements.
Comments
If you want to comment on anything you’ve seen in the Archive, that’d be great. Maybe you’ve got some insight into the content of a document or its purpose, or maybe something you’ve seen has sparked a memory you want to share? Email your thoughts to helen.paterson@pasma.co.uk.
Names
Do you know someone who was influential in the tower industry? Can you think of anyone with anecdotes to share or a collection of photos or documents? Maybe there’s a colleague who was there at key moments in tower history or always talks about what it was like ‘way back when’. These are the kind of people we want to speak to. In particular, there will be people who have retired and might not see the Archive. Please do tell people about the Archive and ask them to get in touch with us. If you can share the names of anyone we should approach to contribute, please email helen.paterson@pasma.co.uk.
Facts
The Archive is not definitive and relies on the memories and research of individual writers. Can you fill in any blanks for us? If you have anything to add to the history of PASMA or any amendments to suggest, please send them our way. You can email your input to helen.paterson@pasma.co.uk.
