PASMA instructors

Every PASMA training course is delivered by a qualified instructor who is a subject matter expert on access towers. Together, our instructors help tens of thousands of operatives learn to work confidently and safely with towers every year.

Booking an instructor onto a PASMA training session just got simpler! Whether they’re qualifying for the first time or upskilling at one of our regular training days, our smart new booking system will handle it all.

Until now, booking instructor training has involved various forms, emails, invoices and even phone calls. We know this is time-consuming, and it must be hard for you to keep track of what’s happening. So, we’ve made some changes.

What’s changing?

Using our shiny new booking system, simply select the course you want, pick a date, enter a few details and pay for it online. All this is done quickly and securely. As always, either the instructor (known as the ‘delegate’) can book for themselves or someone else can do it on their behalf (the ‘lead booker’).

Once the booking is confirmed, the lead booker and the delegate will receive a series of helpful emails with course materials, joining instructions and reminders before the day.

For added reassurance, you can also log in and see the courses you’ve booked and access all relevant information within your account. Any feedback from the trainer will be in there too, so it’s handy for future reference. It just means everything is there for you in one place.

All this really streamlines the process from our side too, so we’ve got more time to spend improving our courses, talking to instructors and doing what we love most – teaching people about the safe use of towers.

How to book an instructor training course

Booking a course is simple. Here’s what you do:

New instructors

To become a PASMA instructor, you must either be employed by a training member or register as a freelance (self-employed) instructor. You’ll also have prior knowledge and experience of towers. On successful completion, you can run four courses:

  • Towers for Users
  • Low Level Access
  • Combined Towers for Users and Low Level Access
  • Work at Height (Novice)

Instructor training is split into five modules. Modules 2 to 5 are mandatory for every new PASMA instructor. However, you may be exempt from module 1 if you’ve already got a recognised qualification in Instructional Techniques.
