Accounts Officer (part time)

Temporary for 6 months (with a view to permanency)

16 hours per week Mon – Fri (flexible)
£9.30 per hour – negotiable

PASMA is one of the most successful and fastest growing trade associations in the work at height sector. Representing the mobile access tower industry in the UK – and increasingly internationally – the association drives standards and best practice and oversees the delivery of the national tower training scheme.

This is a key position within the organisation and in the future development of PASMA and the service it provides to members.

The successful candidate will fulfil the role of Accounts Officer and will be a self-starter who will be responsible for the purchase and sales ledger of the company, including bank reconciliations and basic maintenance of records.

Duties will include:

  • Raise and issue sale invoices on a weekly / monthly basis
  • Issue monthly statements
  • Daily, weekly and monthly credit control, ensuring efficient credit control is maintained
  • Processing credit card payments over the phone (UK & international)
  • Resolving member invoice and account queries
  • Review purchase invoices and enter purchase invoices on Sage using Auto Entry
  • Raise queries
  • Ensure purchase invoices are approved by appropriate Head of Departments.
  • Assisting with weekly / monthly BACS process
  • Manage international payment process for regional reps (follows process above – plus using world first to purchase the currency).
  • Reviewing supplier statements against Sage and resolving queries.
  • Entering purchases made using company card on Sage.
  • Review employee expense claim and enter on Sage using Auto Entry
  • Month end
  • Assist with month end process including, weekly bank reconciliations (record and reconcile payments received / disbursed and reconcile with bank records).

This role based at our Glasgow City Centre Head Office, will provide you with a varied skill set. You will be given a full induction and in-house training for your role, ongoing support and coaching.

  • Professional manner and good work ethic are essential

  • Ability to work on own initiative but also work effectively as a member of a team
  • Enthusiastic with a willingness to learn new skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office is essential
  • Working within an office environment
  • Proven experience of dealing with telephone queries

Member Services Officer (part time)

This is a key position within the organisation and in the future development of PASMA and the service it provides to members, approved training centres and client organisations.

The successful candidate will fulfil the role of carrying out all aspects of administrative support for Member Services and the various Councils and Committees managed by the Association.

Duties will include:

  • Dealing with incoming and outgoing telephone calls, recording all calls accurately
  • Sorting the mail (incoming and outgoing)
  • General administration duties including filing / photocopying / scanning
  • Responding to email correspondence ensuring that members receive a high level of customer service and that all enquiries are responded to promptly and courteously
  • Maintain and implement effective and efficient systems to process training centre registration applications
  • Maintain and implement effective and efficient systems for the production, delivery and control of training photo-cards and certificates
  • Ensure that all orders, enquiries and queries are processed and resolved promptly and efficiently
  • Assist and support association members, training centres and prospective members and training centres
  • Maintain and update accurate membership, training centre and contact databases
  • Liaise with and assist the Head of Finance in resolving any accounts issues and raising invoices
  • Maintain and replenish stock as required
  • Learn how to cover for colleagues in order that you learn how all aspects of the department works.
