 Don't Suffer Fakes Gladly

The A2-size poster explains how to check that the PASMA ID photo cards – which now incorporate a number of unique security features including a hologram and prismatic logo - are current, genuine and valid. The message is clear: ‘Not sure? Get it checked!’

The poster, which is free in reasonable quantities, also includes a telephone hotline number to report inappropriate or dangerous activity by cardholders and PASMA promises to investigate every case and withdraw certification and cards if necessary.

Comments PASMA MD, Peter Bennett: “Increasingly, where mobile access towers are concerned, the PASMA certificate of competence and associated ID card are specified by name in health and safety handbooks as proof of competence.”

“For many people, because of its reputation and nationally applied standards, no other proof will do.”

“With some 50,000 cards now issued each year, PASMA is determined to protect the integrity of its card scheme to ensure that tower owners and users can continue to have complete confidence in its credentials.”

The New PASMA Stamp of Approval

PASMA's new Stamp of Approval sticker was launched at the recent Safety & Health Expo 2009. It has been created to promote and identify people and organisations that are serious about safety and recognise the need for 'competence without compromise'. These are professional firms that comply with the requirements of the Work at Height Regulations and whose operatives hold a current PASMA photo ID card. What is even better is that it is free of charge.

The new sticker will initially be available for use on helmets and safety jackets, together with a larger version for use on vehicles. It will be available to order in quantities of 200 for PASMA members. Non-members who have PASMA trained operatives will be able to order the sticker in quantities of 50. Non- members will also need to provide us with a list of delegates'names and certificate numbers.
